Plastic as a raw material in the production of medical equipment and devices


The Belgian chemical company Solvay recently launched a series of presentations to the medical community in order to illustrate the use of polymers as a substitute for metals in various medical products.

The medical implant company Thompson MIS received FDA approval this month for a spinal spacer made of Solvay's PEEK.

The chemical company Invibio publishes a study supporting the use of PEEK in spine surgeries, after the medical equipment company SpineFronier also receives FDA approval.
